Chris Freimond has worked as a public relations consultant in Canada since 1995 and is a former Vice President and General Manager of Hill & Knowlton Strategies’ offices in British Columbia. He established his own company in 2006. Previously, he was a journalist in South Africa for 20 years reporting on business and politics.
Chris has provided communications counsel to senior executives in a wide range of industries including forest products, high tech, real estate development, biotech, alternative energy, mining and exploration, tourism, healthcare, government, legal services and financial services.
His projects have focused on the development and implementation of communications programs to help organizations meet their business goals and respond quickly and effectively to changing market conditions.
His written work for clients and as a bylined contributor has included sponsor content for The Globe and Mail, op-eds for the Vancouver Sun, web content for Export Development Canada and a series on crisis communication for Business in Vancouver.
Chris has an MBA in Public Relations & Communications Management from Royal Roads University in Victoria, B.C., and completed the Strategic Management of Investor Relations Program at Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, and the New Managers’ Program at the University of Cape Town’s Business School. He is an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) with the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and is a past President of IABC’s B.C. Chapter.
