What This Position Is All About:

The VP, Marketing will provide leadership and direction in the development and planning in all channel marketing for the designated businesses in alignment with the corporate brand, merchandising and marketing strategies. Reporting to the SVP, Marketing, this position is responsible for leading, managing and executing marketing strategies in collaboration with the broader marketing team and channel experts.
This is a leadership role and the candidate must be able to oversee the brand’s evolution from strategy development through the successful execution of marketing plans, briefs and achievement of desired business outcomes. He/she must have a strong business acumen and be able to lead and influence individuals and teams, while driving results through teamwork and collaboration within an integrated marketplace. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in either the fashion, consumer retail industry, or held senior positions within an agency. He/she will need to be passionate about retail, a cultural innovator and a leader in the industry. The candidate will have a strong strategic orientation, excellent communication skills, and will be comfortable motivating, leading and inspiring in a matrixed environment. He/she will also need to be a strong collaborator and influencer with all levels of the organization, including executives.

You Also Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 10+ years marketing/retail/agency experience in positions of progressive responsibility
  • Strong leadership and team building skills, including mentoring, training and development
  • Proven ability to inspire, collaborate with, and influence business partners
  • Proven ability to navigate and succeed in a highly matrixed organization
  • Well developed knowledge of traditional (print, broadcast) and digital marketing
  • Ability to represent the voice of the customer in strategic business discussions
  • Track record building effective relationships with internal and external partners
  • Strong understanding of retail, commerce, and consumer experiences
  • Ability to make quality decisions and creative problem-solving solutions in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • A willingness to initiate change as the company grows in order to streamline processes, improve efficiency and facilitate the growth of the company

As the VP, Integrated You Will:

  • Proactively drives the marketing strategy and execution to drive the growth of Hudson’s Bay including in-store and digital.
  • Oversees marketing activities that leverage customer insights to identify new innovation in partnership with eCommerce, buying, planning and marketing teams.
  • Ensures adherence against set budgets and ensures accurate expenditure tracking records are maintained.
  • Strategizes and works cross-functionally to activate initiatives that connect the in-store and digital experience to advance
  • Omni experience for customers.
  • Proactively respond to industry trends and consumer preferences in support of developing the 360 marketing strategies for Hudson’s Bay
  • Lead in the development of the strategic marketing plan to deliver the corporate merchandising and marketing strategies
  • Oversee in developing innovative and customer centric marketing plans in collaboration with the business leaders. Lead the rigorous vetting of the weekly marketing program to ensure achievement of the profitable sales plan for Hudson’s Bay
  • Measure and review the ongoing effectiveness of the marketing programs and communicate the results to the business leaders.
  • Ensure compliance to the production processes for business partners to ensure zero tolerance to the schedules and requirements.
  • Provide effective communication to all internal stakeholders on initiatives and programs to enable flawless, consumer friendly execution
  • Provide leadership, career planning and coaching to direct report associates and marketing team.
  • Works cross functionally with leaders of the company to ideate towards the evolving retail landscape.
