Future TV Advertising Forum Canada 2019 is focused on the innovations that enable TV to deliver brand building and turbo-charged performance marketing under one roof, and attract digital-first brands who have hit their growth ceiling using only non-TV digital media. We will be looking at how TV delivers the data-driven insights that established advertisers are seeking, and will showcase the best of audience-based buying, data-led campaign optimisation, digital-broadcast targeting, cross-platform planning and smart attribution.

Creative is one of the biggest influences on the effectiveness of TV advertising and this year we are looking for ways to enhance its power, whether the ‘format’ is brand integration or a 30-second spot. We explore a potential game-changer: the use of AI and deep-metadata for better contextual matching of ad messaging and sentiment against content. We are going to showcase creative talent and unpick the secrets of what makes great TV-based marketing.

This year we turn our focus to the future of brands and consider the macro-trends, business pressures and opportunities they face, from the rise of direct-to-consumer distribution to voice marketing to price commoditisation. Throughout, we will be probing for the likely impact on television as an advertising medium. Among other things, you will hear about in-house ‘agencies’, the role of consulting firms and the future of the brand-agency relationship.
