It has been announced that August 30th will be the last day for Barbara Messing who currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) or retail giant Walmart. According to an internal memo she is leaving to spend more time at home with her family after taking the role last August.
As of the time of writing a replacement has not been announced but a search has begun for a new Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Retail Marketing. Michael Francis will be stepping into the role in the interim, he is a former CMO of Target and DreamWorks. Francis ties to Walmart go back to 2015 when he started consulting to the retailer.
