After 26 years at Edelman, Larry Koffler exits for Burson Cohn & Wolfe

For the last 26 years Larry Koffler has been developing, managing and implementing integrated communications marketing and CR programs for a wide variety of leading brands, properties and corporations at Edelman.  That time has now come to and end as Larry will be joining Burson Cohn & Wolfe (BCW) as its Executive Vice President, Managing Director in the agency’s Brand Solutions Practice in New York. Larry’s official start date will be January 14, 2019.

Over his 26 years at Edelman, Larry has held a number of roles, most recently Executive Vice President, Business + Social Purpose.  Before that Executive Vice President, Unilever co-GCRM; Executive Vice President, Unilever Regional CRM; Senior Vice President, Sports and Sponsorship Marketing.

“Larry has had an extraordinary career leading integrated communications programs that bridge brand, corporate and purpose for some of the world’s most iconic brands and organizations,” said Chris Foster, President, North America, BCW. “His award-winning experience across a wide variety of industries will be invaluable to clients that need powerful programs that exceed expectations and drive meaningful results. I am excited for what he will add to BCW’s celebrated brand solutions business.” Koffler will report to Thomas Bunn, Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Brand Solutions.

Why it matters

This is a major change for Edelman as there would have had to be some significant circumstances to give Larry a reason to leave the organization he has spent his entire career (26 years) working for.  The appointment also represents a major win for BCW as Larry brings tremendous depth and experience with the every changing communications industry.  This now represents the second senior level executive to exit Edelman over the last few days.
